SANTO DOMINGO, August 14, 2023.- After Argentina’s first gold medal win at the twentieth edition of the Women’s Pan American Cup on Sunday in Ponce Puerto Rico, the United States continues to be the top winner of the Women’s Volleyball Pan American Cup with Seven Gold Medals.

Since the inception of the Women’s Volleyball Pan American Cup in 2002, United States has won the event on seven occasions, followed by the Dominican Republic with five gold medals, Cuba with four and Brazil with three.

The annual event was suspended in 2020 during the COVID-19 global Pandemic after eighteen consecutive editions. In 2021 the NORCECA Volleyball Confederation created the Women’s Pan American Cup Final Six as part of its qualification system for international major events, in accordance with each year’s competition calendar.
