Vancouver to host Men’s Qualifier to Tokyo Games
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, October 8, 2019 – The
city of Vancouver, British Columbia has been selected as the
host of the
Norceca Men’s Tokyo 2020 Qualification Tournament
on January 10-12.
The announcement was made by Alan Ahac, Director of
International Events of Indoor Volleyball of Volleyball
Canada.
“We are pleased to have this event coincide with the 10th
anniversary of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games,”
Ahac said.
He also announced that the four-team competition will take
place in the iconic Pacific Coliseum, which was one of the
venue during the 2010 Games.
Canada will host team of Cuba, Mexico and Puerto Rico for
the round-robin three day competition. The winner will earn
the confederation ticket to the Tokyo 2020 Games.
The United States are already qualified to the Tokyo Games
as winners of the Rotterdam tournament, one of the six FIVB
World Qualifiers.
