Dominican Republic Starts Strong at NORCECA
Women’s Championship
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, August 21,
2026.- The Dominican Republic opened its
participation in the 2026 NORCECA Women’s
Continental Championship with a straight-set 3-0
(25-11, 25-11, 25-10) victory over Costa Rica in
the match that closed the first day of
competition. In their next Pool B matches, host
Dominican Republic (1-0) will face Cuba (1-0),
while Costa Rica (0-1) will take on Puerto Rico
(0-1). The Dominican Republic controlled the
match with advantages in kills (44-12), blocks
(6-2) and aces (14-0).

The 2026 NORCECA Men’s Final Six Begins in Ponce
PONCE, Puerto Rico, August 19, 2026.– The NORCECA Men’s Final
Six returns to Ponce for its sixth edition, scheduled from
August 23 to 29 at the Juan “Pachín” Vicéns Auditorium. The
competition will feature Puerto Rico (host), Canada, Dominican
Republic, Guatemala, Mexico, and the United States. The
preliminary round will be played in a round-robin format from
August 23 to 27. The United States enters the event as the
three-time defending champion. In last year’s edition, the
United States claimed the gold medal, Puerto Rico earned silver,
and the Dominican Republic took bronze.Mexico finished fourth,
Canada fifth, and Suriname sixth.
