Men’s Teams and 15 Women’s Teams to Compete in the Fifth Stop of the
NORCECA Beach Tour in San Salvador
SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, May 28, 2026.-
The
preliminary inquiry officially confirmed the pool compositions for
the fifth stop of the 2026 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour, which will
take place from May 29 to 31 at the Flor Blanca Sports Complex in
San Salvador, featuring 14 women’s teams and 15 men’s teams.
The
tournament will include representation from 12 countries in the
men’s division and 11 countries in the women’s division, further
establishing El Salvador stop as one of the most competitive events
on the Tour.
In
the Men’s Division, Mexico leads the 2026 circuit with 780 points.
Costa Rica has been the surprise of the year, currently sitting in
second place with 530 points, while the United States ranks third
after four stops with 505 points.
In
the Women’s Division, the Canadians lead the season with 720 points,
closely followed by the United States with 700 points, while Mexico
stands at 680 points. These scores demonstrate how evenly matched
the women’s competition has been throughout the year.
The
first day of competition will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the Men’s
Division. On Court 1, Merchant/Taylor of U.S. Virgin Islands will
face Priima/Pérez of USA; on Court 2, Brown/Valenciano of Costa Rica
will take on Hamilton/Sousa of Bermudas and on Court 3, the
Dominican duo De Jesús/Martínez will play against Richards/Bristol
from Saint Kitts and Nevis.
Meanwhile, the Women’s Division will begin action at 10:30 a.m. with
USA’s Shields/Frohling facing Rendon/Medina of El Salvador on Court
1. On Court 2, López/Lolette of Nicaragua will face Rodríguez/Murillo
of Honduras, while on Court 3, Guatemala’s Alvarado/Monney will take
on Peifer/Valenciana of the U.S. Virgin Islands.
