Panama finish first in WCH qualifier
Panama City, Panama, August 20, 2012. - Panama
finished in first place at the NORCECA Women’s World
Championship Qualification Tournament First Round Group G by
defeating El Salvador in straight sets (25-18, 25-15, 25-11) on
Sunday. This is the sixth first round women’s tournament
held within NORCECA Confederation in the qualification process
towards the 2014 FIVB World Championship in Italy. The top three
teams from each event move to next year’s second round. More

Panama takes the Gold in Group G
PANAMA CITY, Panama, August 19, 2012. - Panama took the Gold
Medal at the NORCECA First Round Women’s 2014 World Championship
Qualification Group G, defeating El Salvador in the final match
3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-11). Panama had in Captain Joanna
Arroyo its best scorer with 13 points consisting in 10 spikes, 2
blocks and one in service; Yokhanny Comrie contributed with 10
points. Panama finished in first place undefeated. For El
Salvador, Adriana Flores scored the highest with 6 points.

Belize beat Bonaire for third place
PANAMA CITY, Panama, August 19, 2012. - Belize beat Bonaire 3-0
(25-19, 25-19, 25-18) in match for the third place of the First
Round Women’s 2014 World Championship Qualification Group G. Belize qualified for the second round world qualifier that will
take place next year. The winners took over the match from start
to finish with a 6-4 advantage in blocking, while Bonaire had
some good moments.
Sherylee Young-Thurton was the best scorer for Belize with 15
points while Lu-Allen Sint Jago had 12 for Bonaire.

Panama stumbles against Belize for their second win
PANAMA CITY, Panama, August 18, 2012. - Panama had a shaky
start dropping the first set to Belize for their second win by
3-1 (25-27, 25-22, 25-10, 25-13) at the First Round Women’s 2014
World Championship Qualification Group G. Belize took the first set while host Panama stumbled to recover;
during the second set Belize still was resilient to give in but
Panama took control of the match adding direct points from their
attacks.

Bonaire steals a set from El Salvador who remains unbeaten
PANAMA CITY, Panama, August 18, 2012. - El Salvador remains
unbeaten but not without giving a set away to Bonaire for a
final score of 3-1 (25-5, 25-10, 25-27, 25-12) as actions
continued at the First Round Women’s 2014 World Championship
Qualification Group G.
As in last night’s match against Panama, Bonaire pressed El
Salvador but this time they earned their first set in a NORCECA
tournament, forcing the winners to re structure their strategy.

Panama opens with a win at World Qualifier
PANAMA CITY, Panama, August 17, 2012. - Host Panama opened with
a win over Bonaire by 3-0 (25-14, 25-5, 26-24) at the First
Round Women’s 2014 World Championship Qualification Group G.
Bonaire, debutants in a NORCECA tournament were able to recover
from a difficult start edging Panama to make a stronger effort
to earn the win as they became more confident.

Panama welcomes
world class tournament
PANAMA CITY, Panama, August 17,
2012. - Panama welcomed the First Round Women’s Group G 2014 FIVB World Championship Qualification with an opening ceremony
at Gymnasium Beto Remon in Panama City. A folk dance was the first part
of the ceremony, followed by the parade of the participating
teams and the words of the President of Panama´s Volleyball
Federation.

Salvador claims first victory
PANAMA CITY, Panama, August 17, 2012. – El Salvador claimed its
first victory defeating Belize in the opening match at the
First Round 2014 FIVB World Championship Qualifier Women´s Group
G by 3-0 (25-22, 25-13, 25-18 ).
The winners had a rough start which Belize took advantage of but
came short in the end. El Salvador was lead by Adriana Flores
with 11 points while Shelmadine Cacho, also with 11 points did

All set for Women’s World Qualifier in Panama
PANAMA CITY, Panama, August 16, 2012. – First Round of the 2014
Women’s World Championship Qualification Group G is set to take
place in Panama City with national teams of Belize, Bonaire, El
Salvador and host Panama. Preliminary inquiry and Technical meeting took place on
Thursday, conducted by Jose Luis Jimenez NORCECA Delegate and
Professor Jose Ramon Perez Vento.
