Heather Hughes, Lane Carico pouch second consecutive gold medal
PIGEON POINT, St Lucia , October, 13, 2013 – The USA –A pair of
Heather Hughes and Lane Carico saw of the Mexican duo of Martha
Revuelta and Bibiana Candelas 2-0 ( 21- 17, 21-18) , to pouch
their second successive gold medal when they copped the ninth
leg of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball circuit concluded here on
Sunday.
The win meant that Hughes and Carico went 5-0 in this leg, as
well as 10-0 in sets and extended their combination of
unblemished run to 10-0 in matches and 20-0 in sets won.

USA men prevail over Canadians to claim gold
PIGEON POINT, St Lucia, October, 13, 2013 – The USA- B team of
David Mc Kensie and Austin Rester starved off a spirited Canada
– A outfit of Andrew Hinchey and Ryan Vanden burg 2-1 ( 21-23,
25-23, 15-8), to claim the first place in the men’s segment of
the ninth leg of the 2013 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit
closed off here on Sunday.
Both teams which featured six footers , gave the involved crowd
at the venue much to shout about as it edge of then seat stuff,
trading points in the three setter championship match.
And, it was a revenge for the Americans who suffered at the
hands of Hinchey and Vandenburg in their opening match.

Four top teams reach women’s semi finals
PIGEON POINT, St Lucia , October, 12, 2013 – The four top seeded
teams in the ninth leg of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball circuit
being held here , have gained berths to the women’s semifinal
phase on Sunday.
Number one seed USA-A squares off with the number four seeded,
the Dominican Republic and Canada A- the second seed, plays
Mexico- the third seed.

Semifinalists determined in men’s play
PIGEON POINT, St Lucia, October, 12, 2013 – The four
semifinalists in the men’s segment of the ninth leg of the 2013
NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit have been decided.
Through to the last four are the USA-B, Mexico, Guatemala and
Canada-A.
The semifinals pairings pit the USA-B of David McKensie and
Austin Rester versus Guatemalan combination of Andy Blanco and
Erick Garrido.

Seeded women come through unscathed on opening day
PIGEON POINT, St Lucia-
October , 11, 2013 – USA-A, Canada-A , Mexico and the Dominican
Republic, all came through to their billing on the opening day
of the ninth leg of the 2013 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit
got on the way here on Friday.
USA-A team of Heather
Hughes and Lane Carico continued their winning ways as they
trumped over the St Kitts and Nevis representatives- Brenda
Allen and Shanicia Dyer 2-0 (21-11, 21-14).
Second ranked Canada-A
with Claudia Seguin and Brandie Wilkerson won both matches
without dropping a set.

Top men’s teams maintain billing
PIGEON POINT, Saint
Lucia, October, 11, 2013 – It was plain sailing for the top
ranked men’s teams on the opening day of the ninth leg of the
2013 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit which got on the way here
on Friday.
The sizzling sand and
soaring heat at times, did not stop the seeded teams from
showing their worth and status.
The two top ranked men’s
teams Mexico and Puerto Rico were in scintillating form
disposing with consummate ease those who came face to face with
them at the nets.
Number one seed- the
Mexican pair of Ulises Ontiveros and Tomas Aguilera stopped St
Clair Hodge and Kemoroy Percival of St Kitts and Nevis 2-0 (
21-13, 21-15) and also ousted the Costa Rican combination of
Zlatko Piskulich.

Ninth leg of the 2013 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit spikes
off Friday
PIGEON POINT, ST LUCIA- The ninth leg of the 2013 NORCECA Beach
Volleyball Circuit spikes off here on Friday morning.
Sixteen men’s pairs, as well as fifteen women’s pairs will do
battle for honours in the three day tournament which culminates
on Sunday.
Heading up the men’s play is the Mexican duo of Ulises Ontiveros
and Tomas Aguilera, while the USA’s A team combination of
Heather Hughes and Lane Carico is the ranked number one among
the women.
When the eighth leg was staged last week in California, USA,
Hughes and Carico saw off
fellow Americans Sarah Day and Kaitlin Nielsen of USA-B, 2-0. More
