AFECAVOL supports Marte Hoffiz reelection

GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, February 27, 2015 - On the occasion of the General Assembly of the Central American Volleyball Association AFECAVOL at Guatemala City on February 27-28, the seven presidents of the National Federations of Central America unanimously supported the reelection of Cristobal Marte Hoffiz as President of the North, Central and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation NORCECA.

With an extensive first day of sessions, that included the NORCECA Presidency reports by Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, the representatives of AFECAVOL -Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama- and President Marta Centeno Sajche, voted to support Marte Hoffiz reelection for the 2015-2019 period.

Centeno Sajche expressed her gratitude to NORCECA’s President saying “his exhaustive and hard work in bringing progress to our zone is valued enormously; his guidance has been invaluable and as well as the members of AFECAVOL, I also support his candidacy.”

Bertha Cuadra, President of Nicaragua’s National Federation, praised NORCECA’s efforts, “Cristobal Marte has been of great support for volleyball in my country, our responsibility as representatives of Central America is to continue supporting his good job.”

Allan Sharp, President of the Federation of Belize said that “progress has been palpable; it’s notorious in the growth of regional tournaments and the opportunities available for our countries to compete in Continental, Pan American and World Championships under Cristobal Marte’s management”.

Edgar Alvarado, President of Costa Rica’s Federation and who has been away for ten years from volleyball expressed “now that I’m returning, growth and development is evident in these past years; Central America needs Marte’s passion and therefore we support his continuity in front of our Confederation”.

“It’s an honor receiving your support; during my presidency I’ve pursued development for our region, seeking for more opportunities of competing,” said Marte Hoffiz, who included an investment analysis for AFECAVOL during the period of 2011-2014.

“Visualizing what we have accomplished in AFECAVOL, my goal is to benefit all National Federations, with an equal investment and raising it, so I encourage you all to join our efforts in development,” he added.

Elections will be held next October during NORCECA’s Congress in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
