Americans win historic 32-30 tie-breaker against
Trinidadians
PUNTA CANA, Dominican Republic, September 14, 2019 – Fans in
Punta Cana enjoyed the unique opportunity of watching
history flying before their eyes when the men’s duos of
United States and Trinidad & Tobago starred in one of the
most exciting battles ever in NORCECA Beach Circuit.
Brandon Joyner and Michael Boag of United States engaged
with Daneil Williams and Joel Isaac Theodore in a
give-and-take combat that lasted 1 hour and 21 minutes under
sizzling conditions in the air and the pearly white sand of
Punta Cana.
The Trinidadian pair did everything within their strength
and ability to claim the first set 22-20 which gave them
hopes of a victory never achieved before against the
powerful teams that usually represent the United States.
Joyner and Boag, however, were thinking totally different
and came back to tie the affair with a 21-19 second set
before claiming the win with an incredible tie-breaker that
will enter the books of NORCECA Confederation and never will
be forgotten by those who had the chance to watch the 32-30
decision.
An important chapter of the history of beach volleyball in
NORCECA was played on Saturday.
You can write that on stone!
