Anguilla defeats the British Virgin Islands to earns bronze medal 

Phillipsburg, Sint Maarten Saturday 7th August 2016: Anguilla and the British Virgin Islands battled for bronze medal in a closely contested match in which   Anguilla emerged victorious with a score of 25-11; 28-30; 25 - 10 ; 25- 12  . With no other games left, both teams left every ounce of energy on the court.  Team Anguilla was able to outdo their opponents to carve out a victory. Ludiane with able support from Janai Gumbs and Rikiesha Leveret led the way for Anguilla. 

The British Virgin Islands were formidable adversaries as they made Anguilla nervous on several occasions. Cagey veteran Sabina Clement used her experience to help her team win set two.  Dainyah Mason led the way with ten points (10).   Despite this herculean effort, the team was unable to impeded team Anguilla. 

Anguilla’s captain, Ludiane Leveret succinctly stated the team used targeted serves.  This made a huge difference as players became more confident.   Coach Liburd had a slightly difference view as he was of the view, the players were more relaxed hence they executed better. 

Captain Sabina Clement of the British Virgin Islands stated there was no significant difference in the passing but it created nightmares for the setter.  Consequently more focus needs to be placed on fundamentals. Coach Payne felt there needs to be an improvement in fitness and fundamentals.  However, he was happy to see an improvement in competitiveness as the tournament progressed.
