								GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, October 1st 
								2021. - Kianny Araya and Ana Fallas (CRC 2) won 
								two matches coming from behind on day one of 
								competition at the XIII Central American U21 
								Beach Volleyball Championship in Guatemala.   
								
								In pool B, Araya and Fallas started with a 
								spectacular comeback win from losing the first 
								set to Honduras 1 of Shanna Rivera and Aura Cruz 
								2-1 (20-22, 21-19, 15-11) and the same against 
								Daniela Sánchez and Daniela López (ESA 2) but 
								with a comfortable 2-1 (19-21, 21-9, 15-4).  
								
								The other team from Costa Rica, Ángel Williams 
								and Ximena Núñez (CRC 1) had no setbacks in 
								group C, defeating of Honduras 2 of Reizel 
								Bruhier and Shantte Siliezar  by 2-0 (21-12, 
								21-10) y and  Mirella González/Dana Funes (ESA 
								1) with a 2-0 (21-9, 21-13) score.  
								
								Also host team Paola Alvarado and Laura Quiñonez 
								(GUA 1) had a convincing rhythm, first  winning 
								to Daniela Sánchez/Daniela López (ESA 2) by 
								solid 2-0 (21-13, 21-5); and then to Shanna 
								Rivera/Aura Cruz (HON 1) with 2-0 (21-12, 21-15) 
								score. Alvarado/Quiñonez will play for first 
								place in pool B against Araya/Fallas.   
								
								In pool A Joselyn Muñoz/Ana Arévalo (GUA 
								2) and Grace Zeledon/Nahima Silva (NCA 1) beat 
								the other team of their pool, Panama’s Karla 
								Ortíz and Kriseleen González. Guatemalans by 2-0 
								(21-18, 21-12) score and Nicaraguans with 2-0 
								(21-12, 21-17).  
								
								Reizel Bruhier and Shantte Siliezar added one 
								win in group C, defeating team 2 of Nicaragua
								 
								
								2-0 (21-14, 21-13); and Mirella González and 
								Dana Funes of El Salvador also beat them  2-0 
								(21-14, 21-11).  
								
								Pool-play will continue on Saturday; the first 
								two places of each pool move into quarterfinals, 
								alongside the best two teams in third place
