Argentina defeated Peru and will play the final
LIMA, Peru, September 7, 2018 - Argentina secured its
classification to the final of the II Final Four U20, after
defeating host Peru 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-23) at the Manuel
Bonilla Coliseum of Miraflores.
The effort of the local team went from less to more, but it was
not enough to overcome the explosive attack of the main
Argentinean figures: Melisa Corzo (13), Candela Salinas (11) and
Ligorria Angeles (11); on the Peruvian side Thaisa Mc Leod
sought to give the fight to register the maximum of 11 units.
The winners excelled in the attack category by 41-26, also
recorded a wide superiority in blocking 10-4 and doubled in
service 4-2. Both teams committed 20 unforced errors each.
The best scorer in Argentina, Melisa Corzo: "We are very happy
because although we have trained only a few weeks the work has
been intense, and we have shown it today, Peru is a rival that
plays similar to us, but we knew how to solve things because we
trust in the work of each one in the field ".
The top scorer in Peru, Thaisa Mc Leod: "It was not a good game
for us, it cost us a lot from the start and although we wanted
to overcome it, we needed to improve the reception, this has to
be an experience to keep improving, because tomorrow we have a
difficult match against the Dominican Republic and we will try
to show our best level ". |
