DURANGO, Mexico, August 23, 2021. - Arturo
Iglesias, Puerto Rican captain, was elected as
the Most Valuable Player MVP of the Men’s
NORCECA Continental Championship during the
awarding ceremony after his team conquered their
first gold medal in the history of the event.
The awarding ceremony was presided by the
NORCECA President Cristóbal Marte Hoffiz,
accompanied by city authorities of Durango on
Monday night at the competition venue Auditorio
del Pueblo, where Puerto Rico, Canada and Mexico
were handed the gold, silver and bronze medals
accordingly.
Along with MVP Arturo Iglesias, also from Puerto
Rico, Dennis Del Valle received the awards for
Best Libero and Best Digger.
Cuban Miguel Angel López was awarded as the
first Best Outside Hitter and his teammate José
Israel Masso was granted the first Best Blocker
award.
Canadian Brandon Koppers was recognized as the
second Best Outside Hitter and Dominican Dawilin
Ramill Méndez the second Best Blocker.
The Best Opposite and Best Scorer of the event
was handed to Henry Omar Tapia of Dominican
Republic.
From Mexico, Pedro Rangel was awarded as Best
Setter and Josué De Jesús López as the Best
Server.
Guatemalan Carlos López was recognized as Best
Receiver. |
