Bahamas is ready to host the 19th Edition
CAZOVA Senior Volleyball Championships
NASSAU, Bahamas, August 9, 2025.- The stage is set for a very
exciting 19th edition of the CAZOVA Caribbean Volleyball
Championship with the release of the final schedule for the event in
Nassau, The Bahamas, August 16 - 24.
Five teams will be trying to dethrone queens Jamaica while kings
Suriname will be battling to defend their crown against challenges
from six strong opponents. In releasing the schedule President of
CAZOVA Mushtaque Mohammed indicated that the CAZOVA tournament was
viewed as “the volleyball Olympics” for the region.
“The players, the officials and the fans have come to expect some
exciting volleyball from these games. While the winners will
advance to the NORCECA finals, everyone is keen to boast of being
the number one team in the region,” said Mohammed.
Suriname men are in Group A along with the hosts, The Bahamas and
Jamaica. Barbados who won the title a record 10 times are in group
B along with their archrivals Trinidad and Tobago, Curaçao and
Guadeloupe.
Among the women Jamaica lead a zone of “death” comprising former six
times queens Barbados and the rapidly rising Suriname. Guadeloupe,
former queens Trinidad and Tobago and the Bahamas who have held the
top spot on three occasions are in a tough group B.
Following the opening ceremony on the 16th the action begins with
Jamaica men clashing with the hosts, The Bahamas, which should set
the scene for nine days of exciting volleyball. |
