Bahamas went pass Barbados in final group match.
PARAMARIBO, Suriname, July 1, 2018–
Bahamas who came off a difficult game against Suriname took
matters in their hands against Barbados in three sets; 25-14,
25-20 and 28-26 in the 17th CAZOVA (Caribbean Zonal
Volleyball Association) Women’s Championship here tonight at the
Ismay van Wilgen Sport Hall, in Suriname.
Both teams entered the game winless and although they will play
each other in tomorrow’s bronze match it was important for them
to gage their performances against each other.
Bahamas Melinda Bastian had another match winning performance
with 11 points but also contributed with 4 successful passes and
digs. Shonte Seale who is Barbados’s lead scorer in the
tournament, again had the lone performance with10 points 5 of
which were service aces as the only player with double figures
in her team.
Bahamas ended the round with one win (5 points) and will again
play Barbados tomorrow Monday 2nd July 2018 for the
bronze medal at 15:00. |
