Barbados continues its dominance

 

PARAMARIBO, Suriname, April 3, 2018 - Barbados continued its business-like approach as the defending champions dispatched of its arch rivals Trinidad and Tobago in straights sets. With this victory, Barbados moves to a maximum of fifteen points assuring them a place in the Finals.

 

Barbados won the match 3-0 in sets (25-18, 25-23 and 25-16) in one hour and thirteen minutes.

 

Barbados had more winners, 75 to Trinidad and Tobago’s 57 with the Barbados having committed less errors, 30 to Trinidad and Tobago’s 32.

 

Akeel Oxley of Barbados was the game’s top scorer with 13 points (10 Spikes, 1 Block and 2 Aces)

 

Evlon Pounder was Trinidad and Tobago’s top scorer with 9 points (7 Spikes, 1 Block and 1 Ace)

 

COACH BARBADOS – John Stuart said “Trinidad and Tobago played their best game against us, they pushed us for a while.”

 

CAPTAIN BARBADOS – Brandon Callender said “it was a good game, Trinidad and Tobago played well.”

 

COACH TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO – Sean Morrison said “We played a better game than the others. Barbados kept their foot on the gas and we just made too many errors especially in the second set when we were up. Hats off to Barbados on a game well played.”
