Barbados start CAZOVA U19 with 3-0 victory over T&T
SPANISH TOWN, Jamaica, July 22, 2019 - Barbados secured an easy
3-0 victory over Trinidad and Tobago as the Caribbean Zonal
Volleyball Association Boys' Under-19 tournament began at GC
Foster of Physical Education and Sports in Spanish Town,
Jamaica.
Barbados' victory was set up by beautiful power hitting that
overpowered Trinidad and Tobago's blocking ability, which was
the best feature of their game, as Barbados won 25-14, 25-14,
25-21.
Barbados shot into an early 3-0 lead after stealing the opening
serve and maintained a dominant position with spikes to
different sections of the court, although Trinidad and Tobago
often nullified them with super blocking.
The second set was similar to the first with Barbados
establishing a 15-8 lead and doing enough to keep ahead of their
opponents to win the set.
With their girls' team in the stands vociferously egging them
on, Trinidad and Tobago put in a better effort in the third set
but came up short as the power hitting of Barbados was once
again decisive in the result. |
