Battle for Sixth Place! Changos Defeat Gigantes in Five Sets

ADJUNTAS, Puerto Rico – December 6, 2025. – In a night filled with pure intensity at the Rafael Llull Coliseum, the Changos de Naranjito pulled off a five-set victory (25-18, 25-20, 22-25, 21-25, 15-10) over the Gigantes de Adjuntas in the only match on Saturday in the Men’s Superior Volleyball League (LVSM).

With the result, Naranjito earned two points and tied Adjuntas for sixth place in the standings, both holding a 5-12 record and 17 total points, occupying the last playoff spot. Adjuntas, meanwhile, added one point in the loss.

According to the competition format, the top six teams in the Regular Season advance to the Quarterfinals, while the bottom two are eliminated. The teams finishing in the top two positions receive a direct bye to the Semifinals.

Naranjito’s offense was led by Clarke Goldbold (24 points) and Ángel Rivera (16), with additional contributions from Cole Gillis and Sebastián Negrón, both scoring 10.

For the Gigantes, Cristian Encarnación led with 20 points, followed by Mark Olsen (16), William Rivera (15), and Heriberto Maldonado (10).

In the team stats: Naranjito dominated in attacks (63-61), blocks (13-12), and digs (61-56). Adjuntas had the edge in passes (72-55) and assists (36-31). Both teams finished with three aces.
