opens strong at the IV U-19 Central American Beach Volleyball
Championship
SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, May 1, 2026.-
Nicaragua celebrated twice, earning victories in both genders on the
opening day of the IV AFECAVOL U-19 Central American Beach
Volleyball Championship, taking place at the Beach Sports Stadium in
San Salvador.
In
the girl’s division, Fenchely Alvarado/Ella Resau secured an
important first win, prevailing 2-0 (21-10, 21-12) over Guatemala’s
Mónica Cano/Marisabel González.
Another team with a positive start on the girl’s side was El
Salvador’s Ashley Rauda/María Castaneda, who defeated Honduras’ Eymi
Hilton/Ruth Villegas 2-0 (21-11, 21-10).

In
boys, Nicaragua’s Domingo Murillo/Edgar Holmann celebrated their
first victory with a 2-0 (21-17, 21-17) win over El Salvador’s Diego
Barrera/Jacob Menjívar.
Meanwhile, Guatemala’s Manuel Estrada/Robin Oliva prevailed in a
hard-fought battle, 2-1 (19-21, 21-15, 18-16), against Honduras’
Jairo Gálvez/Isaac Méndez.
The
second day of the IV U-19 Central American Beach Volleyball
Championship will determine the medal matchups ahead of the
tournament’s conclusion scheduled for Sunday, May 3.
In
the girl’s division, starting at 11:00 a.m., El Salvador will face
Nicaragua, followed by Guatemala against Honduras. In the afternoon,
Guatemala closes its schedule against El Salvador at 3:00 p.m.,
followed by Nicaragua taking on Honduras.
In
the boy’s division, Nicaragua will face Honduras at 11:00 a.m.,
followed by Guatemala versus El Salvador. In the afternoon starting
at 3:00 p.m., Nicaragua will meet Guatemala, and the day will
conclude with Honduras against El Salvador. |
