Beach VB Referee Course concluded in Santo Domingo

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, December 4, 2019 – The second edition of the NORCECA Continental Beach Volleyball Referee Course took place from November 20th to 24th with 15 participants, including five women.

The course at the NORCECA/FIVB Regional Development Center in the Dominican Republic was directed by FIVB Instructor Andre Trottier of Canada with the assistance of Miguel Ramirez of Mexico.

The participants were from Belize, Canada, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, St Kitts & Nevis and United States.

The course included two daily sessions with the morning session dedicated to theory aspects of refereeing and the afternoon session dedicated to matches where the participants acted as referees (1st and 2nd), scorers and line judges.

NORCECA President Cristobal Marte Hoffiz attended the closing ceremony and gave an inspirational speech to the participants. Trottier also thanked the staff of the Development Center for the good organization which contributed to a successful end.

Kirsten Boessneck, Magdalena Gleaves, both from USA, and Geoff Stewart of Canada got the highest notes and were recognized during the presentation of certificates.
