Beach Volleyball Festivals in Hato Mayor and Cabarete

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, April 15, 2022 – The Beach Volleyball Festivals in Hato Mayor and Cabarete got underway on Good Friday as part of the sports activities held in the traditional Holy Week in Dominican Republic.

 

NORCECA Confederation is contributing with Molten volleyball in both tournaments as part of the program of expanding the practice of beach volleyball in the country.

 

Both Hato Mayor and Cabarete are in schedule as hosts to the 2022 NORCECA Beach Tour.

 

The event of Hato Mayor is dedicated to Flor Colon, a former member of the volleyball national team who performed the ceremonial first serve.

 

Ruben Cruz, president of the organizing committee, attended the opening ceremony accompanied by Ramón García, president of the Dominican Volleyball Federation and Amado de la Cruz and Jose Manuel Ortega, the mayors of Hato Mayor and Vicentillo, respectively.

 

The prize money in Hato Mayor is close to $1 million Dominican pesos for the winners of the different divisions and genders.

 

While Hato Mayor is located in the eastern region of Dominican Republic, Cabarete is a surfers’ paradise in Puerto Plata in the north coast.
