Beach Volleyball Tournament set to start in Veracruz
VERACRUZ, Mexico, November 25, 2014. - The Beach Volleyball
Tournament is set to start at the XXII Central American and
Caribbean Games of Veracruz, Mexico at Magic Kingdom Park as one
of the main attractions of the Games.
The double gender tournament featuring 32 teams, 16 in each
gender, representing nineteen countries that arrived in Veracruz
during the weekend, took part of the general technical meeting
chaired by NORCECA President and FIVB Vice-President Cristobal
Marte Hoffiz.
The meeting took off with an audiovisual of the Opening Ceremony
of the Games, followed by the presentation of President of the
Mexican Volleyball Federation Jesus Perales Navarro and of the
COVER Second Technical Sports Director Guillermo Regis Borja, as
well as member of the control committee.
Marte Hoffiz welcomed all delegations on behalf of FIVB
President Dr. Ary Graça, “I am proud of the support of each
National Federation for you to be here, the development of our
Confederation and of this competition depends on it”. He also
expressed his appreciation to the state authorities and the
COVER for their enormous efforts to make both Volleyball and
Beach Volleyball tournaments successful ones “your personal and
political interest has contributed to make this a great sports
event”.
NORCECA Director of Competition Arnaldo Sanchez announced the
seedings, Pool composition, and the competition schedule which
begins on Wednesday November 26 at 11:00am requested by the
COVER due to the heavy winds in Veracruz.
