Beach Volleyball event dedicated to the Queens of the
Caribbean
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, October 21, 2019 – The
Hato Mayor Beach Volleyball Tournament to be held from
November 1 to 3 in Doña Callita Tourism Ranch of Hato Mayor
will be dedicated to The Reinas of the Caribbean, the much
heralded Dominican Volleyball Team.
The announcement was made by Hato Mayor Senator the
Honorable Ruben Darío Cruz president of the organizing
committee during the swearing-in ceremony of its members.
The Dominican side, winner of the gold medal at the Pan
American Games in Lima, recently won the NORCECA Continental
Championship in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Angel Rivas, vice president of the Dominican Republic
Volleyball Federation, took the oath to the members of the
organizing committee.
Senator Cruz is accompanied by Juan Barceló Salas, first
vice president, Geraldo Casanova, the governor of El Seibo
province, second vice president, Manuel de la Cruz, governor
of Hato Mayor, third vice president, Nelson Ramírez, general
director, Reynaldo Nova, executive director, Nancy Brea,
administrative director, Sahiana Acosta, protocol director,
and Gustavo Santana and Kenia Mejia Bisono, members.
He thanked the members of the organizing committee for
accepting to participate in what he considered will be a
great event in the eastern province of Hato Mayor.
Bethania de la Cruz, member of the Dominican Team,
pronounced word of gratitude to the organizers for the
dedication of the competition, the ninth of the year of the
NORCECA Circuit.
Hato Mayor is one of the most productive regions in the
Eastern part of the Dominican Republic. This province has an
economy based primarily on citrus production and livestock.
