Beach
volleyball with high level in Barranquilla
BARRANQUILLA, July 27, 2018.- The president of the NORCECA
Confederation, Cristóbal Marte Hoffiz, welcomed the 20
international referees who will take action in the Beach
Volleyball Tournament of the XXIII Central American and
Caribbean Games.
Marte Hoffiz pointed out the importance and level of this
tournament, which will include couples who have competed in
World Tour and Olympic Games, which requires having referees
also of the same level.
"That is why we insist on having you, on 20 referee, all of
Continental and international level. This tournament is historic
with 26 countries competing, something never seen in Central
American and Caribbean Games. We are making history and this
leads us to appreciate the efforts of all the National
Federations”, commented the NORCECA President.
"I also thank the Pan American Volleyball Union, Sudamerican
Confederation and the Colombian Federation for their support and
understanding of the importance of having them all here," said.
Marte Hoffiz also emphasized the level of the competition venue,
the Puerta de Oro Events Center, since "never before, since I
have been in these Games, for more than 40 years, we have had an
installation of this nature", for which he thanked Mr. Carlos
Gómez, Director of the beach volleyball tournament by the
Organizing Committee, "who made this possible".
The NORCECA President, Cristobal Marte, presented the President
of the Control Committee, the Cuban Mireya Luis, Vice President
of NORCECA and the Arbitration Commission that will be in charge
