								MANAGUA, Nicaragua, October 19, 2021 - Belize 
								had to do its best to defeat a battling Honduras 
								3-2 (25-9, 17-25, 25-20, 17-25, 15-9) at the 
								start of the third day of the XXI Senior Women's 
								Volleyball Central American Cup.   
								
								For the Belizeans it was their second match of 
								the tournament, with a victory and a defeat, a 
								triumph that allows them to have options to 
								achieve or repeat the silver medal they achieved 
								in the last Central American Cup. Honduras has a 
								record of three lost without victories.   
								
								After an devastating first set from Belize, with 
								its captain Nelissa Ramírez contributing points 
								from the wings, Honduras reacted by winning the 
								second set with a great contribution from 
								Cecille Johnson, especially in attack.   
								
								In the third set, Belize managed to take 
								advantage, although Honduras pressed in the 
								closing, they could not keep up the pace, giving 
								the advantage to the Belizeans. Who were 
								outmatched in the fourth set, partly due to 
								reception problems.   
								
								In the fifth set, Sharika Burton appeared above 
								all, who had been getting important points in 
								the previous sets, but in the closing she was 
								key to the conquest of her team. Burton finished 
								with 19 points, to 17 from Captain Ramírez; For 
								Honduras Johnson got 17, Estefany Godoy with 11 
								and Andrea Aceituno with 10.   
								
								Belize led the attack 53-37, which made the 
								difference, as they tied in blocking (5-5) and 
								in service (10-10), with 31 errors by Honduras, 
								against 36 by Belize.   
								
								On Wednesday's actions, Belize will face El 
								Salvador at 1:00 p.m., and Honduras will face 
								Nicaragua at 7:00 p.m. |
