Belize gets its first victory by beating El Salvador
Managua, November 1, 2019.- Belize excitingly achieved its
first triumph of the 13th U19 Central American Men's
Volleyball Championship by beating 3-2 (17-25, 25-22, 25-27,
25-21, 15- 10) to El Salvador.
Guided by Kaelen Ingram with 34 points and 15 from Alan Auil,
Belize dominated in attack 62-39 to El Salvador, who were
better in blocking 5-3 and service 7-5, but made 37 errors
for 53 of their opponents. By El Salvador Cano with 13,
Ortiz with 12 and 10 of Yoel Guardado.
Anthony Usher, Belize's usher: “We won our first game,
that's great, it feels great, it helps us build our
confidence. The passes were coming, there was more
confidence, this victory means a lot to Belize, which did
not win in a long time.
Ryan Usher, attacker from Belize: "We are super happy to get
this win, we go out in search of a win and we achieve it, it
is an honor to be part of this selection."
Albert Humes, coach of Belize: “It feels good, in the past
tournaments we had not won any games, we were last, and in
others we did not participate. The calendar has been hard,
we have been improving and this triumph is very good for the
team, for the morale of the team. It's a trophy for the boys
who fought every game, it's important for us. ”
Belize closes its participation before Nicaragua at 6:00 p.m.,
this Saturday, while El Salvador faces Guatemala at 2:00 p.m.
