MANAGUA, Nicaragua, January 2, 2016 – Bertha Cuadra was
re-elected as President of the Nicaraguan Volleyball Federation
during the General Assembly held at the premises of the National
Olympic Committee.
Cuadra will preside over the FNVB for the 2016-19 period
accompanied by Judith Sandino as Vice President, Magdalena
Sandoval, General Secretary, Aaron Silva, Treasurer and Rene
Quintana, Fiscal Officer.
The General Assembly had the presence of delegates from the
associations of Madriz, Chinandega, Matagalpa, Carazo, Managua,
Northern Autonomous Region, Estelí and Granada.
Cuadra presented her activities’ report, underlining the
organization of the national championships in all the youth and
junior categories as well as the Mini-Volleyball Festivals and
the Beach Volleyball National Tour.
Cuadra thanked the support received from the NORCECA
Confederation for the international events which has contributed
to the participation of the Central American countries to
continental events and in the elimination process to the Olympic
Games and the World Championships.
“To be re-elected as president of the FNVB represents a new
challenge since it needs a hard work with a lot of national and
international commitments because we have to continue developing
volleyball, above all, at the school level that requires the
most attention,” Cuadra said. “We will take advantage of the
position of Judith (Sandino, member of the Development
Commission) at the International Federation to submit the school
plan and to start working in that area.”
“I want to thank all the associations, the old and new members
of the Executive Committee for trusting me to guide volleyball
and I hope not to let you down. Our goal is to be medalists in
the region, both in volleyball and beach volleyball,” Cuadra
added.
At the end of the assembly, the Executive Committee of the FNVB
distributed sport equipment of the different associations to
continue promoting and developing both mini-volley and
volleyball in their respective regions. |
