Bethania led Russian League in aces
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, March 23, 2020 - Bethania de
la Cruz's powerful services remain as effective as ever in terms
of speed, location and movement.
The Dominican player for team Dynamo Kazan in the Russian Super
League was the top figure in the circuit's aces department,
something she had also achieved in the 2011 World Cup and in
several international competitions.
De la Cruz hammered 32 aces that earned her the first place in
Russia and helped Kazan to finish 14-2 on the regular round. The
playoff series has been interrupted due to the current
Coronavirus with Kazan one victory away of the final series.
The Dominican was one of several Kazan players who finished at
the top of the individual scoring offensive categories.
Russia's Irina Koroleva was the best blocker at 1.14 per set and
also had the highest average hitting success of all players with
at least 50 spikes with 60 percent average.
On the other hand, Croatian Samantha Fabris had the best scoring
average in the league with 6.24 per set.
Meanwhile, Russia's Ksenia Parubets of the Uralochka team was
the most prolific scorer and biggest attacker on the regular
round with 340 points, including 298 were successful spikes. |
