Bibi Candelas preparing for Veracruz Games
MANZANILLO, Mexico, May 29, 2013 - Each stop at the Norceca
Beach Volleyball Circuit is an important step on the road to the
Central American and Caribbean Games of Veracruz 2014, and
obviously in the new Olympic cycle.
“These stages are very important. Even though we have a direct
berth to participate in the Games as the host country, that
doesn’t mean we are not preparing and working hard”, Mexico’s
Bibiana Candelas stated.
“We are looking forward to get good results at this stage of the
NORCECA Circuit. It’s the second time I am here in Manzanillo
and I am happy about it,” Candelas said.
“Basically we will be able to know all the teams that will be
our rivals in Veracruz at the Central American Games, so this
will help us a lot to keep on working during the tournament,”
she added.
Candelas, who won a gold medal in Mayaguez 2010 and a silver at
the Pan Am Games of Guadalajara 2011 then with Mayra Garcia, is
focusing on a good result at the NORCECA stop in Manzanillo
partnering with Martha Revuelta.
“It is our first NORCECA tournament of the year and there is no
better stage than having a good tournament here at home, so we
expect a big support from the people,” Candelas emphasized.
Revuelta commented: “We are excited. We haven’t had the chance
to compete this year in NORCECA because we were in the World
Tour. But now we are glad to be here in Manzanillo, because here
the people support you a lot. I have participated since the
beginning in all the tournaments here and it would be great to
finish with a gold medal.” |
