Brayelin was the best attacker in League of Nations

Brayelin Martinez was the best attacker in the League of Women's
Volleyball Nations (VNL) whose regular round ended on Thursday.
The defending champion United States finished with 12-3
advancing to the Final Six in Nanjing, China and the Dominican
Republic had 8-7 for the eighth place.
Martinez had a leading effectiveness of 47.57 percent by landing
235 shots in 494 attempts. The American Andrea Drews was third
with an average of 46.26 (294-136).
Martinez and her teammate Bethania de la Cruz finished among the
best scorers of the event with 258 and 241 points, respectively,
which earned them the second and fourth positions behind the
Polish Malwina Smarzek who amassed 365 points.
Brayelin and Bethania were among the players who in the regular
round enjoyed matches with a production above 30 points.
Martinez made 36 against Thailand and De la Cruz 35 in the
farewell against Japan.
De la Cruz was the eighth best blocker with an average of 0.53
per set and Lisvel Eve was tenth with 0.52. Bethania was also
seventh among the best servers with 21 aces and an average of
0.32 per partial.
Niverka Marte finished as the seventh best setter with an
average of 4.06 and a maximum total of 1,597 attempts.
The libero Larysmer Martinez was ranked in the fifth place among
the best defenders with an average of 2.75 and 176 digs. |
