Brayelin was the third best scorer of the World Cup
OSAKA, Japan, September 29, 2019 – Brayelin Martinez of the
Dominican Republic, finished as the third best scorer of the
FIVB Women’s Volleyball Cup won by China with a perfect 11-0
win-loss record.
United States (10-1) and Russia (8-3) completed the podium
while the Dominican Republic, the other NORCECA
representative, finished seventh at 6-5.
Martínez posted a total of 197 points, behind Ana Bjelica
(208) of Serbia and Nataliya Goncharova (207) of Russia.
Dominican Bethania de la Cruz was ninth with 148.

Andrea Drews of United States was the third best attacker
with an effectiveness of 46.90, while compatriot Kelsey
Robinson and Martínez were sixth and seventh with 45.26 and
45.25, respectively.
USA’s Chiaka Ogbogu was the third best blocker with 32 for
an average of 0.80 per set and Dominican Lisvel Eve had 25
and 0.58.
De la Cruz had 18 aces and finished as the second best
server (0.42) behind Argentina’s Yamila Paola Nizetich with
20 and (0.53).
Dominican Niverka Marte was the second best setter with 836
still sets and 280 running sets with 7 faults and a 6.51
average per set, only behind Japan’s Miya Sato (7.19). USA’s
Jordyn Poulter was eighth with 4.38.
Dominican Larysmer Martínez was the second best defender
with 3.79 digs per set, just behind Korea’s Hae Ran Kim with
3.85.
USA’s Kelsey Robinson was the best receiver with an
efficiency of 37.58 while teammates Megan Courtney and
Michelle Bartsch-Hackley were seventh and tenth,
respectively, with 26.76 and 22.60.
