Brazil wins friendly match 3-1 over Dominican Republic
MANAUS, Brazil, May 31, 2017 - The Brazilian women's volleyball
team started the 2017 season with a victory on Tuesday in front
of 3,107 passionate fans.
Coach José Roberto Guimarães's team beat the Dominican Republic
in a friendly game for 3 sets to 1 (21-25, 25-20, 25-19, and
25-21) in 1: 50 at the Amadeu Teixeira Arena in Manaus.
Brazil will return to the field against the Dominican Republic
at 9:30 p.m. (GMT) on Thursday at the Guilherme Paraense Arena
in Belém.
Olympic champion Tandara stood out in the confrontation and
finished the game as the top scorer, with 18 hits. The middle
blocker Adenizia also scored well, with 13 hits. The attackers
Natália and Drussyla and middle blocker Carol scored 10 points
each. On the side of the Dominican Republic, striker Yonkaira
Peña was the greatest scorer, with 13 hits.
