Brazil wins women's BVB bronze medal in Lima 2019
LIMA, Peru, July 30, 2019 - Angela Lavalle / Carolina Horta of
Brazil, claimed the bronze medal of the women's beach volleyball
of the XVIII Pan American Games in Lima 2019 by beating Cuba
21-19, 21-18, with Maylen Deliz and Leila Martínez.
For Horta it was his second bronze medal in Games in a row,
since in Toronto 2015 she finished in third place when she
defeated Canada.
Cuba took the lead 15-13, but Brazil tied and with failures of
both in serves kept parity until Lavalle compiled the Cuban
reception with two services and advanced 19-17, not to lose it
until the end of the game, since the second set was dominated by
the Brazilians with good attacks from Horta over the Deliz
blockade and away from Martínez's defense.
Carolina Horta: "I am happy, it is a very special medal, those
who are close to us know the work we have done for the gold
medal, it has not been given, but the effort has been seen ...
we thank the people who accompanied us , to our people, to our
team. "
Lavalle: "This medal is the product of so much work that we have
done, for a long time, the strategy we formulated as a team and
that worked." |
