Brothers Crabb are one step away for a third title

GUAYMAS, Mexico, April 2, 2016 – Brothers Taylor and Trevor Crabb of United States-A are one step away from playing for a third title –second in a row- of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit when they meet compatriots Stafford Slick and William Allen in Guaymas Tournament on Sunday.

After going undefeated through Pool B with three victories, they won in the quarterfinals by dominating Canadians Christian Redmann and Felipe Humana 2-0 (21-14, 21-14) and are aiming to repeat their victory in the first event of the year in Guatemala in early March.

The other semifinal event features a competitive match between Cubans Nivaldo Díaz and Sergio Gonzalez, and the young local team of Jose Luis Rubio and Josué Gaxiola of Mexico-A with the visitors considered the favorites after winning five titles in the past two tears as well as the gold at the Central American Games in Veracruz 2014 and bronze at the Pan American Games in Toronto.

The home team for sure would want to continue performing for the fans in attendance at this beautiful scenario between the sea and the desert, escorted by the hills, and it would not be a case of fluke since they disputed the title in Guatemala against the Crabb brothers.

“We know they are at their backyard and we don’t underestimate any rivals, but my boys have the experience and quality to win the semifinal and battle for the gold,” said Leonides Regüeiferos, an experienced coach who treasures the dream of Nivaldo and Sergio playing at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
