CAZOVA U18 and U19 events are
ready to kick off
SPANISH TOWN, Jamaica, July 22, 2019 - The
Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Association boys' Under-19 tournament
begins at GC Foster College of Physical Education and Sport in
Angels, Spanish Town, St. Catherine Monday morning.
Barbados were set to oppose Trinidad and Tobago
in the opening match of the tournament, which will see five
teams playing in a round-robin format for a place in the final.
The five teams in the competition are hosts
Jamaica, United States Virgin Islands, Trinidad and Tobago,
Suriname and Barbados.
The top two teams will contest the final on
Saturday at the same venue, with the teams finishing third and
fourth in the round-robin first round, contesting third-placed
playoff.
In the girls’ side
host Jamaica will vie for top honours in Group A along with
United States Virgin Island and Suriname with Group B comprising
Barbados, Guadeloupe and Trinidad and Tobago.
The pool winners then will face the second-placed teams from the
other group in the semi-finals. The winners of the semi-finals
will contest the final on Saturday. |
