Canada in sixth position of Men’s VNL
HOFFMAN ESTATES, United States, June 23, 2019 – Canada edged
Japan 3-2 (25-18, 26-24, 23-25, 21-25, 15-13) for its third
consecutive victory in the fourth phase of the Men’s Volleyball
Nations League.
Canada is currently in the sixth position of the standings with
a 7-5 record and 20 points.
Both teams had 68 attacks but Canada had the lead in blocks 12-6
and aces 6-5. The winners made 25 errors to 24 by the losers.
Stephen Timothy Maar and Nicholas Hoag had 21 and 20 points,
respectively, for Canada. Ryan Sclater contributed |14 points in
the victory.
Yuki Ishikawa and Tatsuya Fukuzawa had 20 and 19 for Japan, all
in attacks, and Yuji Nishida added 14 in the loss. |
