Canada obtains fifth place in Pan American Cup Final Six

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, August 26, 2023.- Team Canada easily defeated Puerto Rico in three sets 3-0 (25-12, 25-12, 25-XX) to finish in fifth place in the NORCECA Pan American Cup of Volleyball Final Six that was played at the Ricardo Gioriber Arias Volleyball Pavilion.

Grace Calnan and Jasmine Rivest were the best offensive players for Canada with 12 points each followed by Thana Fayad and Kaylee Plouffe with 9 and 8 points respectively. For Puerto Rico, the best in points was its captain Norian Ceballos with 7.

Carolyn O'Dwyer, coach of Canada: I think we did a good job going out on the court and playing hard from the beginning, our serve was powerful and solid and as I said before winning is not easy and it is very important for us to do it as a team young we are

José Rivera, coach of Puerto Rico: We treated it ,the girls believed in them and it was what we wanted, for them to fight for points, Canada's serve hurt us a lot but the girls never gave up and they were always in good spirits so we go to Puerto Rico with a good experience.
