Canada subdued Guatemala with record for lowest scoring match
TRUJILLO, Peru, July 10, 2019 – Canada subdued Guatemala in
straight sets 3-0 (25-6, 25-5, 25-8) establishing a new record
for the most lopsided match in the history of the Women’s Pan
American Cup on Wednesday.
It was the all-time lowest scoring match with only 94 points and
a difference of 56 points in the total points for the sides
(75-19).
The previous record was 97 by Cuba over Guatemala (25-6, 25-11,
25-5) on June 20, 2004 and tied by United States over Trinidad &
Tobago 0 (25-8, 25-9, 25-5) on June 24, 2007.
The 25-5 score of the second set tied the all-time record for
the lowest scoring set established by Cuba and tied by United
States in the aforementioned matches. |
