Canada’s Dunn/McKay Crowned Champions in Ciudad Madero 

CIUDAD MADERO, Tamaulipas, Mexico, May 24, 2026.- Canadian duo Darby Dunn and Alison McKay captured the gold medal at the fourth stop of the 2026 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour held in Ciudad Madero, defeating Americans Paloma Browman and Michelle Shaffer in straight sets 21-16, 21-19 in the final. 

The title marks Dunn/McKay’s first gold medal of the season after previously reaching the finals in Costa Rica and Güibia, where they settled for silver on both occasions. It is also their second gold medal on the NORCECA Tour, following their triumph in El Salvador in 2025. 

The Canadians controlled the championship match with strong serving and solid defense, while managing the key moments effectively to secure the victory without dropping a set. 

In the semifinals, Dunn/McKay defeated Cuba’s Kailin Garrido and Drik Martínez 2-0 (25-23, 21-19). Meanwhile, Browman/Shaffer battled through one of the tournament’s most intense matches, defeating Mexico’s Susana Torres and Atenas Flores 2-1 with scores of 17-21, 21-13, 17-15. 

The bronze medal went to Torres/Flores, who defeated Garrido/Martínez 2-0 by scores of 21-17 and 22-20. For the Mexican pair, it was their third bronze medal of the 2026 season.
