Cangrejeras sweep Juncos to open LVSF Semifinal A

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, April 5, 2026.- The Cangrejeras de Santurce opened their Women’s Volleyball Superior League (LVSF) semifinal series in commanding fashion with a 3-0 victory (25-14, 25-21, 25-22) over the Valencianas de Juncos, avenging the loss that had ended their undefeated run during the regular season. This time, at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum, they left no room for doubt.

Santurce had three players scoring in double figures. Tamara Otene led the offense with 19 points (17 attacks and 2 blocks), followed by Andrea Rangel with 17 points and Helena Grozer with 10.

The Cangrejeras dominated in attacks (47-30), blocks (13-10), service aces (1-0), digs (78-72) and assists (13-12). The Valencianas, meanwhile, held the advantage in receptions (39-28).

For Juncos, the only player in double figures was middle blocker Naya Gross, who finished with 11 points.

The best-of-seven series continues Wednesday when the Valencianas host the Cangrejeras at the Rafael G. Amalbert Coliseum starting at 8:30 p.m.

The Semifinal B series begins Friday, April 10, at the Roger Mendoza Vidal Coliseum, where the Criollas de Caguas will host the Leonas de Ponce at 8:20 p.m.
