Dominate as the LVSM Postseason Race Intensifies
SAN SEBASTIÁN, Puerto Rico, December 3, 2025.-
All
LVSM (Men’s Superior League) teams took the court on Tuesday night,
with victories for the Caribes de San Sebastián, Gigantes de
Adjuntas, Cafeteros de Yauco, and Changos de Naranjito. The action
made clear that every point is crucial in the race toward the
postseason.
Caribes Hold Firm at the Top
At
the Luis Aymat Cardona Coliseum, the two-time champions Caribes
relied on the offense of Pelegrín Vargas Jr. (27), Corey Chavers
(19), Mark Frazier (11), and Ezequiel Cruz (10) to defeat the
Patriotas de Lares in five sets: 25-21, 25-15, 20-25, 26-28, 15-11.
It
was the third clash between both squads, all decided in five sets,
with San Sebastián coming out on top each time.
For
Lares, standouts included Jair Santiago and Johan León (16 points
each), Jonathan Rodríguez (14), and Garrett Muagututia (12). Setter
Luis Carlos Ruiz contributed 31 assists, while his counterpart
Howard García tallied 25.
With
the result, the Caribes added 2 points to remain atop the standings
with a 14-1 record and 37 points. Lares (9-6, 28 points) sits in
fourth place.
Adjuntas Clings to the Final Playoff Spot
At
the Mario Morales Coliseum in Guaynabo, the Mets fell in four sets
to the Gigantes de Adjuntas (25-16, 25-17, 22-25, 25-21).
Adjuntas secured all 3 available points and improved to 5-10 and 16
points, holding on to the final postseason berth. Guaynabo,
meanwhile, dropped to 2-13 with 9 points, at the bottom of the
standings.
Cristian Encarnación led the Gigantes with 19 points, while Johansen
Negrón paced the Mets with 13.
Yauco and Corozal Tied for Second Place
At
the Raúl "Pipote" Oliveras Coliseum, the Cafeteros de Yauco defended
their home court with a straight-set win over the Plataneros de
Corozal (25-19, 25-23, 25-21).
The
victory earned Yauco 3 points, placing them in a tie for second
place with Corozal. Both teams now have 29 points, with records of
11-4 (Yauco) and 10-5 (Corozal).
Brandon Rattray (15) and Juan Felipe Castañeda (13) powered the
Cafeteros' offense. For Corozal, Jalen Penrose (17) and Spencer
Olivier (13) led the scoring.
Naranjito Stays Alive in the Playoff Hunt
At
the Guillermo Angulo Coliseum, the Changos de Naranjito edged the
Gigantes de Carolina in five sets (25-21, 25-15, 20-25, 26-28,
15-11).
Naranjito earned 2 points and now stands at 4-11 with 15 points,
holding onto seventh place and keeping their postseason hopes alive.
Carolina remains in fifth with a 5-10 record and 17 points.
Jackson Rivera and Clarke Godbold were key with 23 points each,
while Cole Gillis added 15. Giomar Collazo led Carolina with 19.
