PLAYA BLANCA, Panama, November 12, 2015 – The VIII U21 Men’s
Central American Beach Volleyball Championship organized by the
Central American Association of Volleyball Federations and the
Panamanian Volleyball Federation promises a lot of emotions due
to existing rivalry in the age group category.
The Royal Decameron Hotel in Playa Blanca, Farallón, Panamá,
welcomed the 10 men’s duos from six countries who will start on
Friday the dispute for the title won last year by Nicaragua.
The duo of Ruben Mora and Denis Lopez will be seeking to
maintain the hegemony of Nicaragua in the category but needs to
overcome the obstacle of El Salvador, runner-ups last year, and
now will have Carlos Rodríguez and Cristian Vargas, as well as
Costa Rica represented by two competitive pairs and last year
finished in third place.
Costa Rica has Alejandro González/Sebastian Valenciano as Team
No. 1 and Jean Velluti/Fabian Guerra as Team No. 2.
Guatemala will be fielding Wagner Perez/Erik Flores as Team No.
1 and Mark Alvarez/Anderson Aragon as Team No. 2. Nicaragua also
will have a second pair with Jefferson Cascante and Luis Lopez.
Panama introduced their two pairs with Jose Gonzalez/Elmer
Valdes and Emanuel Pitty/Jason Quintero. Honduras will compete
with Carlos Ramos and Adonis Rodriguez.
The 10 pairs were divided into two pools for a round-robin phase
and the top four will advance to the quarterfinals.
Pool A consists of Panama-1, Costa Rica-1, Guatemala-1,
Nicaragua-2 and Honduras. Pool B consists of Nicaragua-1, El
Salvador, Panama-2, Costa Rica-2 and Guatemala-2.
The competition kicks off at 8:00 a.m. with Costa Rica-1 against
Hondura,s followed by Guatemala-1 versus Nicaragua-2. El
Salvador faces Guatemala-2, while Panama-2 takes on Costa
Rica-2. The morning schedule concludes with the match of
Honduras versus Guatemala-1. |
