VALLEDUPAR, Colombia, June 26, 2022 – Chile won
a thrilling five-setter against Dominican
Republic to claim first place in Pool B of the
Men’s Volleyball Tournament of the Juegos
Bolivarianos.
The Chilean side triumphed in a nail-biting
tie-breaker winning the match 3-2 (24-26, 25-20,
25-23, 28-30, 16-14).
It was the second consecutive five-set contest
for the Dominican side who defeated Bolivia the
night before.
Matias Jadoue led Chile even though Edouard
Fuhit of the Dominican was the best player in
the exciting contest.
In the match for first place in Pool A, Colombia
beat Peru in straight sets 3-0 (25-17, 25-10,
25-23).
Now Peru will meet Venezuela for fifth place. In
the semifinals matches it will be Colombia vs
Dominican Republic and Chile v Peru. |
