Chinese coaches to assist Jamaica in volleyball
KINGSTON, Jamaica, January 23, 2018 - The Government of Jamaica,
though the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport,
and the Government of China signed an agreement by which Coaches
from China are in Jamaica lending technical support for
volleyball.
The coaches will be in Jamaica from January 12 to February 9,
2018, as it was informed by Ms. Jacqueline Cowan, General
Secretary of Jamaica Volleyball Association.
The second phase of the agreement will see a select group of
girls and coaches going to China, for two months in the summer,
for extensive training.
Volleyball was chosen as one of the disciplines, as a Chinese
contingent attended the Caribbean Championship held in Jamaica
last July, and decided to add volleyball to the list of sports
to benefit from the technical support.
The JaVA will be sending two of the recently certified female
FIVB Level 1 coaches to China, who we are sure will benefit from
the experience, as they are both active volleyball coaches in
their schools. |
