Coaches state opinions and goals in Suriname
PARAMARIBO, Suriname, June 30, 2018: The CAZOVA (Caribbean Zonal
Volleyball Association) Women’s Championship Serves off today
June 30th 2018 at the Ismay van Wilgen Sport Hall
with the first two preliminary games.
Three Teams Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago
join with the host Suriname to make this year’s event the
smallest since 1992 when the tournament was first celebrated
right her in Suriname.
Defending champions Trinidad & Tobago are seeking their seventh
title in a row.
Barbados – Shon Hurdle:
is optimistic that his team will do well in this tournament
despite that the team did not get enough time to training
together since most of his players were at their respective
schools. However, it is a very young team and he has high
expectation of his players.
Bahamas – Margarett Albury
(speaking on behalf of Coach Covance Mortimer) indicated that
their team is looking for a much better result that the last
event in Jamaica. Again, most of Bahamas players are playing in
separate collages in USA so it was difficult to training
together as a team.
Trinidad and Tobago, Francisco Cruz:
We still having difficulties with a
training venue back home and we are not spending sufficient time
on the training court recently. We are here to defend our title
and we must play to win and don’t expect that the title will be
given to us. |
