Colombia beats Guatemala in straight sets
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, July 14, 2024.- The Colombian team
only needed three sets to defeat Guatemala 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-16) on
the opening day of the XVII Pan American Cup Men's Volleyball.
Colombia was superior in all aspects, in attacks 43-28, in blocks 7-2
and in services 5-1.
Leandro Mejía was the best offensive player for Colombia with 12 points,
while Gustavo Larrahondo added 10. For Guatemala, their captain Carlos
López had 12 points and José Pérez added 8.

This match was very important for us and we knew how to handle it very
well, the boys were tactically synchronized and the truth was that we
knew how to take advantage of the opportunities.
