Colombia dominates Peru in its debut
LIMA, Peru, May 5, 2019 - Colombia opened its participation in
Serie B of the U21 Pan American Cup with a victory after
defeating Peru in straight sets (25-23, 25-21, 25-17) at the
Manuel Coliseum Bonilla of Miraflores.
Those led by Felipe Osorio maintained control of the game with
an advantage in the attack (29-25), blocking (12-6) and service
(6-3). The unforced errors were similar: 27 the winner and 28
the loser.
Peru had the leading scorer of the game, the leading attacker
Sebastian Calvera with 12 points, 11 attack and one block. For
Colombia, middle blocker Luis Lopez and opposite Ronnie Mosquera
each had 11 points.
Luis Lopez, top scorer of Colombia: Although we had some
mistakes, I think we knew how to handle the moments of pressure
and we are very happy with this first results because we know
that we are the replacement generation of our country, and we do
not want to disappoint the support that gives us our Federation.
Sebastián Calvera, Peruvian top scorer: I think the team has
much more to give. This was only the first game, we are in a
process of formation and growth, now we just have to recover and
go out tomorrow with everything for that first triumph.
Colombia will open the day of this Monday, May 6, to face Canada
at 2:00 p.m. While Peru will start in the last game scheduled at
20:00 hours. |
