VALLEDUPAR, Colombia, June 28, 2022 – Colombia
outdueled Dominican Republic advancing to the
gold medal match of the men’s volleyball
tournament of the Juegos Bolivarianos.
The Colombians who had not lost one single set
in their previous matches edged the resilient
Dominicans 3-1 (25-20, 22-25, 25-18, 26-24)
before a full house at Julio Monsalvo Castilla
Municipal Coliseum.
Now the Colombians will play Chile for the gold
medal. The Chileans edged Peru 3-2 (25-21,
23-25, 23-25, 25-13, 16-14).
The bronze medal will be decided in a contest
between Peru and the Dominican Republic this
Tuesday.
In the match for fifth place, Venezuela came out
winners over Bolivia in a five-set duel 3-2
(31-33, 25-18, 24-26, 25-22, 15-11). |
