SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, March 11, 2021 – NORCECA Communications Director Roosevelt Comarazamy has been the recipient of the “Abelardo Raidi” Award presented by the Americas chapter of the Association Internationale de la Presse Sportif (AIPS).

The award was presented by Mr. Carlos Julio Castellanos, interim president of the AIPS America accompanied by Jorge Torres, president of the Dominican Sports Writers Association, during a ceremony on Wednesday at the Hall of Fame Pavilion in Santo Domingo.

Comarazamy was recognized for his long service as journalist in the Dominican Republic and internationally.

The Communications Director of NORCECA since 2003, Comarazamy has been FIVB Press Delegate in World Championships, World Cups, Club World Championships Age-Group World Championships and the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games.

He has been correspondent of The Sporting News and Baseball America in his native Dominican Republic and has been member of the France Presse teams covering Central American Games and Baseball Caribbean Series.

Comarazamy’s experience includes being TV anchor of the Dominican stations covering the Olympic Games from 1984 to 2008.
