Comfortable victory for Colombia over Guatemala
LIMA, Peru, August 18, 2018 - The young team of Colombia won a
comfortable 3-0 victory over Guatemala (25-14, 25-13, 25-13) and
on Sunday 19th, they will play for the fifth place against
Chile.
In 1 hour 7 minutes of play, the team of Bryan Silva managed to
completely deactivate his opponent with the power of his serve
to get 8 points in service. Colombia was also superior in
attacks (42-27) and blocking (5-3).
Manuela Ibarguen and Emelys Martinez contributed 12 and 10
points each to the victory, while for Guatemala the highest
scorer was Martha Guillermo with 9 points.
The best scorer of Colombia, Emelys Martinez: "We studied the
team of Guatemala very well, they defended a lot but we managed
to maintain the rhythm of the game to win 3-0. I think that
little by little we have taken more security in our game and
tomorrow we will stay with the win."
The top scorer in Guatemala, Martha Guillermo: "I think that
unlike the match against Peru and Chile we were more regular, we
