Representatives of the new generation of beach
volleyball from 20 countries will take action on
the Pan American Courts of the Junior Pan
American Games in Cali, Colombia.
In addition to a place on the podium, they will
battle for one of the seats in the 2023 Pan
American Games in Santiago. The best pairs - one
from CSV and the other from Norceca - guarantee
a place for the country in the intercontinental
tournament.
The pairs were divided into four groups of four,
who played with each other. The first two of
each group go to the quarterfinals.
In the female category, pairs from Argentina,
Antigua and Barbados, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada,
Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Guatemala,
Mexico, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Puerto Rico and
Venezuela participate. In male, a pair
representing Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil,
Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador,
Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Puerto
Rico, Dominican Republic and Uruguay.
Cali beach volleyball complex has two courts and
matches are held simultaneously. On the opening
day, the men open the disputes in the morning
and start in the first five games. At 9 a.m.
(local time), Cuba with its duo Diaz/Reyes meets
Bolivians Chacon Salvatierra on court 1, while
on court 2 will be the twins Renato and Rafael,
who won the U21 world title in 2019 and resumed
for this Pan Junior. They will have the Costa
Rican duo C. Lobo / D. Dyner.
From 1:00 p.m. it will be the women's turn.
Paraguay's Janina/Laura duo faces William/Núñez
from Costa Rica on court 1. Next door, Gonzalez/Navas
from Puerto Rico meets Bolivians Isa/Galindo.
